on the first side, ulm's SCARCUBEM project (marc hörger and martin schubert) offers us an older track; maybe you have seen a copy of our rare second demo somewhere, LINIEN was originally released on it in a shorter version, this extended mix was produced for a cd-sampler of a small hamburg-based label that has not been releases yet. we all were longing for a vinyl of this track for almost two years now. no one can face this deep endless housy electronica-grooves without moving his feet! you want more of this? check out the great (if you want to believe in the press...) album "41'17'' präsenz" of them, that was released last autumn on heimelektro ulm together with decode recordings!
side two starts with a new artist on heimelektro ulm: T-H-D (totally harmonic distortion) is wolfgang wanko. besides producing music, he is developping software-synthesizers (www.ars-resonor.de), and works at a well-known music shop in munich ( ... and there are rumors, that not funkstörung know the pc-s better than the programmers, but ... :). it is not his debut-release (a track of his LADY4JANE project was released on the SPACENIGHT III -sampler), but HIPPIES IN DA HOUZE is the debut of this new project. we have to mention, that he is mainly producing electronica and ambient, this old-schoolish detroit-track is really unique, and, beside of that, another T-H-D track will be on the "heimelektro ulm populär serie teil 2" sampler coming in december (vinyl/cd).
the debut-album TMAEINS of ROGER VAN LUNTEREN from cologne, that was released last year (in germany), still is a personal tip, even if the reviews were really enthusiastic in germany ("one of the best debuts of the year"; de:bug), uk ("a mini album with maximum thrills"; nme; "obscure but essential"; muzik) and elsewhere. you won't believe it, when you listen to the deep melody and super laid back house groove of RAINY AUTUMN SUNRISE! if you want to find out about the wide spectrum of rogers music, watch out for his track on CITY CENTER OFFICES' new sampler, the track on the first h.e.u.://populär.klub flexi-disc (heimelektro ulm's next release in october!) and the forthcoming 10'' of his easy-listening-project DELOS coming next year on heimelektro ulm (and certainly his brilliant album)!
